With the launch of Yamaha YB125Z, the Japanese manufacturer has once again come to the spotlight for fulfilling its promise of delivering premium quality bikes as always.

The company had ventured to establish its production base in Pakistan jointly with a Pakistan-based company Dawood in 1975. Since then, Dawood has been undertaking the proxy of production and sales of Yamaha-branded motorcycles in the country.

Its 1977’s Yamaha FS1-E Classic was among the first ever bikes, like another Japan-manufactured Honda 70cc, that were famed all over the country.

Yamaha YB 125Z specs and features

The Yamaha YB 125Z 2023 is equipped with a single-cylinder, 2-valve, 4-stroke, air-cooled, SOHC engine. The YB 125Z bring along a displacement of 124cm3 and its bore and stroke measure 54.0 mm x 54.0 mm, while the compression ratio given with this model is 10:01 and accompanied by a constant mesh 5-speed transmission and a ground clearance of 150mm. The engine has an oil capacity of 1 litre, whereas the fuel tank’s capacity is 13 litres.

Performance and mileage

Its diamond-type frame, sleek but traditionally common design, and its adjustable rear suspension make its rides smooth as they help absorb the shocks the rider has to bear while riding on typical bumpy roads in Pakistan. 

This top-tier bike product of Yamaha gives an impressive mileage of 31km per litre, falling hardly 10kms short of CD 70’s mileage. 

Other perks

The Yamaha YB 125Z 2023 provides a capacitor discharge ignition (CDI) and comes with both a kick starter and an electric starter system powered by a battery. The electric starter allows the rider to start the bike quickly, especially in heavy traffic and all down-shift gear pattern allows a smooth ride.
