The year around the corner, 2025, is poised to make a major impact on the gaming industry, featuring highly anticipated titles like Grand Theft Auto 6, Doom: The Dark Ages, and Civilization 7.
While some release dates are confirmed, many eagerly await official announcements for other upcoming games yet to be revealed.
Upcoming games in January 2025
Grand Theft Auto 6
The highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto 6 is expected to be launched in 2025, marking one the biggest launches of the calendar year. However, the company has yet to announce the official launch date.
Doom: The Dark Ages
The next Doom game brings a series to a grim, medieval-like Dark Ages setting. It is poised to be the third fantastic Doom game of the decade, promising an atmospheric and brutal gameplay experience.
However, the company has yet to announce the official launch date.
Civilization 7
The upcoming game in the iconic 4X series is set to introduce significant upgrades to Civilization at the time of launch on February 11. This time, Firaxis is focused on a "layered" approach to history with some longer ages into the latest civilization at the beginning of each era.
Assassin's Creed Shadows
Assassin's Creed is confirmed to release in Japan on February 14, returning to the series' roots. Similar to Mirage, Shadows is focused on delivering a stealth-centric experience, much like Mirage, instead of the open-world action style of recent entries.
Monster Hunter Wilds
Monster Hunter Wilds is set to release on February 28. It promises to be a revolutionary evolution of the Monster Hunter World, building on the success of Monster Hunter World.
This instalment introduces a richer, more immersive open world filled with monsters to hunt, creating an experience that gaming enthusiasts are eagerly anticipating.
