Verizon grappled with an outage in the USA as users started experiencing disruption and reported it as it adversely affected its mobile services.
More than 100,000 users reported the issue on Downdetector, a web outage tracking site, reported an outage by collecting reports from users. It shows map hotspots at several places such as New York, Atlantia, and more which indicated the outage on the East Coast too.
Addressing the issue Verizon spokesperson told The Verge: "We are aware of an issue impacting service for some customers, our engineers are engaged and we are working quickly to identify and solve the issue.”
It is important to note that several users reported that their phones stuck in SOS mode. Almost 35% users reported Verizon network outage, 50% users reported complaints about the mobile phone and further 15% reported total blackout.
Not only Verizon, but users engaged on other apps including Spotify, AT&T, Spectrum, T-Mobile, US Cellular, Apple Support, OpenAI, WOW, Duke Energy, CenturyLink, and Auth0.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Verizon support member has that we "diligently working" on this outage. However, the mobile phone service provider has not given any estimated time for the restoration of service.
Users engaged with AT&T has also reported the outage, as 35% users reported complaints while using mobile internet, 34% users reported no signals, and the remaining 31% reported landline issues.
However, AT&T officials has still not addressed the issue.
