LinkedIn is currently testing a novel feature resembling TikTok's vertical video format, which has been noticed by users and confirmed to TechCrunch, although not yet officially announced.

The functionality, as revealed in a screenshot by Instagram's Jenny Eishingdrelo and a video shared on LinkedIn by influencer marketing professional Austin Null, will be accessible via a dedicated "video" tab within the LinkedIn app. Similar to TikTok and Instagram Reels, users can navigate through videos by scrolling vertically.

This isn't LinkedIn's first foray into adopting popular social media trends. The platform previously introduced a Stories feature for disappearing posts, which was discontinued after less than a year. At that time, LinkedIn hinted at further developments in video content, expressing intentions to transform the Stories concept into a refreshed video format across the platform.

The goal behind this new video feed is likely to feature content from LinkedIn's community of professional creators and thought leaders, many of whom already use video in their current postings. However, it remains to be seen how much interest there is among LinkedIn's user base for a specialised video feed focused on professional and workplace topics.
