Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg in a casual discussion with Mosaic Ventures partner Benedict Evans on Threads mocked Apple Vision Pro, saying that Meta Quest 3 is "better" while drawing a comparison between both the gadgets.

According to Business Insider, the fiery remarks from the tech billionaire came only days after he posted a review of the Vision Pro on Instagram. In the review, he reflected in great detail on everything ranging from the cost, specs, features, and functionality of Apple Vision Pro.

While reflecting on the functionality of the Vision Pro in a post he shared on Threads, Evans stated: "There are a lot of limitations to the Vision Pro, but I am genuinely baffled by Meta VR engineers claiming it's 'basically just the same thing' as the Quest. Apple is selling pretty much the device Meta wants to reach in 3-5 years. The Quest is selling at the price Apple wants to reach in 3-5 years."

In response to Evans post, Zuckerberg wrote, "I don't think we're saying the devices are the same. We're saying Quest is better," Zuckerberg replied.

He added, "If our devices weigh as much as theirs in 3-5 years, or have the motion blur theirs has, or the lack of precision inputs, etc, then that means we'll have regressed significantly."

While the FaceBook ownder lauded Apple's Vision Pro for delivering better resolution, he was of the view that Apple made Vision Pro worse in "most ways" by extending "many other product tradeoffs."

Apple Vision Pro stands tall against the Meta Quest 3 by having sold over 200,000 Vision Pro units since January 2024, as the latter could only sell 20 million units between 2019 and February 2023.

Apple has sold over 200,000 Vision Pro units since its pre-order launch, surpassing Meta's 20 million Quest units sold between 2019 and February of last year, making Meta's Reality Labs division mint $1 billion in revenue for the first time in the fourth quarter last yea. The company attributed that $1 billion milestone to "strong holiday season" for Quest.
