KARACHI: VLEKTRA, Pakistan's most premium electric motorcycle brand, has completed the first-ever intercity journey on an electric motorbike from Karachi to Hyderabad.
VLEKTRA completed a historic ride on August 12, covering a distance of 166 kilometres on the VLEKTRA Velocity, the company's flagship electric two-wheeler.
The automaker live-streamed the entire journey on YouTube, marking a significant milestone in the evolution of e-mobility in Pakistan.

The remarkable feat brought into the spotlight the company’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of innovation and sustainability while demonstrating the practicality and reliability of electric motorbikes on long-distance routes within the country's territories.
VLEKTRA CEO Syed Raza Mohsin stated: “I am incredibly proud of our Research and Development department, particularly our testing team, who have dedicated two years of relentless effort to bring this product to life.”
“This motorcycle was conceived, designed, and developed entirely in Pakistan. While a range of 80-100 kilometres suffices for 99% of use cases, range anxiety has been a significant concern for EV customers. With a remarkable range of 180 kilometres on a single charge and a cost of under Rs1/km, we are more confident than ever in our product lineup," Mohsin added.
VLEKTRA’s achievement emphasised the technical courage of its motorbikes and stamped a new benchmark for the electric vehicle industry in Pakistan.
Besides introducing a marvel of an e-bike, VLEKTRA has shown the potential for electric vehicles to become a viable option for long-distance travel.
