In the realm of tech-political realm, Web Summit 2024 is going to be conducted in Lisbon later this week.

At Europe’s biggest annual tech conference, industry leaders and lawmakers will be reflecting on the positive prospects and pitfalls linked to Donald Trump’s return to the White House.

The tech conference will observe a talkative session between high-ranking executives from tech giants like Apple, Microsoft, and Meta and those from European governments, with the x-factor of discussions being the future of artificial intelligence, social media regulation, and the impact of Trump's reelection on the region.

Among the most notable participants will be John Adam, the chief revenue officer at software development firm Aimsoftpro, whose 70% workforce is still based in Ukraine, a region engulfed in war with Russia which Trump earlier promised to end within 24 hours of taking office.

“There’s mixed feelings because the Trump approach looks like it’s more geared towards the present lines of conflict, which is not an ideal scenario for Ukraine, and there’s a reluctance to accept that. At the same time, we would like this to have an endpoint,” said Adam.

Despite not being expected to attend the tech summit, tech billionaire and Trump's biggest backer Elon Musk will be a recurring theme involving his role in Ukraine via satellite service Starlink to his remarkable accomplishments in space exploration by SpaceX.

A special panel will deliberate on how Europe could directly rival SpaceX with an inhouse project; another revolving around Musk's role in destroying “Twitter".
