Apple's entry-level iPad, which hasn’t seen an update since 2022, is finally expected to get a major refresh in spring 2024. Priced at $349 after a recent price cut, the current model runs on the ageing A14 chipset. Here’s what you can expect from the upcoming iPad 11.

Apple Intelligence features

The new iPad will likely include Apple Intelligence, Apple’s advanced AI-powered platform. This feature could introduce tools like Genmoji, Image Playground, and the all-new Siri, enhancing productivity and creativity.

While the chipset is unconfirmed, many speculate that the iPad 11 will feature the A18 chip, providing faster performance and support for advanced AI features.

Improved connectivity

The upcoming iPad is expected to support Wi-Fi 6E or Wi-Fi 7, along with Bluetooth 5.3, offering better speed, reliability, and lower latency.

Cellular models might also debut with Apple’s first in-house 5G modems, a milestone in Apple’s tech development. These upgrades will ensure seamless connectivity for streaming, gaming, and other online tasks.

New Magic Keyboard support

Apple is reportedly working on a redesigned Magic Keyboard for its entry-level iPads. This new version may offer a traditional keyboard design instead of the current folio style.

The addition of this accessory could make the iPad 11 an attractive choice for students and professionals.

Apple iPad 11 release date

According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the iPad 11 is expected to launch in spring 2024 alongside the iPhone SE and iPad Air.

While the design will remain similar to the current model, the iPad 11 will focus on better performance and modern features, making it a significant upgrade for Apple’s most affordable tablet.
