Economic activities regained momentum in 2023 completely after struggling with the repercussions of 2022 damages caused by the global pandemic — COVID-19 — and so did the automobile sector.
Car sales picked up pace in 2023 across the world with consumers looking for cars as per their demands.
As 2023 is almost over, let’s see the top five cars and SUVs which were among the bestsellers.
Ford F-Series — 382,893 units sold
As per Car and Driver, Ford F Series is in the number one spot with a 28% increase over this time last year. Ford also disclosed that 8,757 of these sales were of the electric F-150 Lightning pickup.
Chevy Silverado
Almost 264,070 units have been sold out so far. Among the units sold, the Silverado's sales include both the light-duty 1500 model and the heavy-duty lineup. The HD trucks were down through the first half, but the Silverado 1500 improved its sales compared with last year.
Ram Pickup
The Ram truck lineup was down with 223,049 units sold. Its 9% decline means it'll have a lot of ground to make up to battle the Silverado for the second-place spot.
Tesla Model Y
In almost seven months, 190,500 units have been sold (estimated). If Automotive News' estimates can be believed, the Model Y had a huge first half. It's behind only the big three full-size pickup trucks in the sales race, so we'll have to see if Tesla can maintain this pace throughout 2023.
Toyota RAV4
The RAV4 was the bestselling SUV in America last year, but it's going to have to work hard to maintain that crown this year as it has only sold 187,017 units so far. Its sales dropped 7% and it was passed by an unlikely competitor, the electric Tesla Model Y.
