BioWare fans have had an exciting 2024, especially with the release of Dragon Age: The Veilguard, which concluded Solas’ plan to destroy the Veil. This highly anticipated title brought players back to Thedas, but as we move into 2025, BioWare’s focus is expected to shift.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard won’t see much action in 2025. Despite fans hoping for DLC to explore more of Northern Thedas, BioWare has repeatedly stated no additional content is planned.
With many developers now working on Mass Effect 5, it’s likely the game will only receive a few minor updates before full support ends. Dragon Age Day celebrations might still bring small surprises but don’t expect major announcements.
Mass Effect 5 takes spotlight
On the other hand, Mass Effect 5, confirmed in 2020, is gradually taking centre stage. Although updates have been sparse, BioWare’s N7 Day teasers, including glimpses of rebuilt Mass Relays and connections to the Andromeda galaxy, hint at the game’s direction.
While full marketing likely won’t start in 2025, fans can look forward to development updates, blog posts, or a teaser during The Game Awards.
For fans of both franchises, 2025 will likely be a quieter year compared to the buzz of 2024. However, the groundwork BioWare is laying for Mass Effect 5 signals exciting things to come.
