WhatsApp has released an exciting new feature in its latest beta update for iOS version 24.24.10.76 via the TestFlight program.

The feature enables users to scan channels and start following them with the use of QR codes, providing a less cumbersome way of finding and linking up with channels. It has already been released on Android and now becomes available to iOS users.

How WhatsApp QR code feature works

Channel owners will be able to generate special QR codes for their channels through this update. The QR code can be exported from the channel info screen and then shared using messaging apps, via email, or even printed and used offline.

It would become easy for other people to follow channels easily and fast with just a scan.

What to expect in WhatsApp QR code feature?

This WhatsApp feature is very effective for businesses as it connects them with the customers more appropriately. Businesses can display their QR codes in-store or on receipts or marketing materials and can promote exclusive deals, updates, and events.

For example, a coffee shop can place the QR code on receipts for loyalty programs, while a retail store can use it for sales or new arrivals advertisements.

Another use of the QR code is for individuals and organisations hosting events. People attending events can connect through shared channels using QR codes.

The presence of a QR code at an event allows people to join and receive event updates, photos, or announcements easily.

Availability of WhatsApp QR code feature

The QR code feature is currently live for select beta testers who installed the latest version of WhatsApp beta for iOS. In the coming days, though, the rollout is expected to release for more users, and if it has not arrived yet for you, look out for updates soon.
