WhatsApp brings Catalyst app for Mac, announces deprecation of Electron app

Electron app for Mac won’t be available after 54 days, users are being notified and encouraged to switch to Catalyst app

WhatsApp recently announced the deprecation of the Electron-based Desktop on Mac, leading users to switch to the Catalyst app for an improved user experience, as it integrates in an enhanced way with the latest macOS features.

Meta-owned WhatsApp unveiled the latest beta app, particularly for Mac, which is developed utilising Catalyst to integrate the iPad version to macOS, offering a more responsive experience.

Previously, an Electron-based app was available for Mac, as the Catalyst app lacks a few features only available on the Electron variant app. However, after significant upgrades, the Catalyst app has finally become a top-notch app. Therefore, WhatsApp has officially announced the deprecation of the Electron-based app for Mac too.

Additionally, all the users have already received a notification regarding the deprecation of the app within 54 days. All the users are strongly encouraged to switch to the latest Catalyst app, to protect their previous chats and contacts.

All the users of the Catalyst app would certainly noticed a significant enhancement in the app’s overall performance, stability, and reliable features.

Additionally, the Electronic version of WhatsApp Desktop app for Mac won’t be available until the end of October. So users are encouraged to install the Catalyst desktop app for Mac directly from the official website of WhatsApp.

Catalyst app would arrive with the greatest features including the community tab and channels, enhanced speed, system integration, and more. However; some of these features won’t be available initially, but they are likely to be launched soon after its release.
