WhatsApp is reportedly testing a new feature that enables users to access the Privacy Checkup screen in a more flexible way allowing them to proactively manage their privacy settings.

The Meta-owned platform has been making efforts to enhance user experience with its exceptional updates and services across the globe and this major improvement in privacy control is a part of it.

The feature was spotted in the Android beta 2.24.18.8 version introducing a new “entry point” for WhatsApp Privacy Checkup features that aims to provide easier access to users.

This feature would allow users to keep their chats and account details safer without going through multiple processes or opening various windows in the application.

Previously, accessing this Checkup section required tapping on a banner that appeared occasionally; however, now tapping on Settings > Privacy and scrolling down will show the Privacy Checkup option.

This update allows users to easily access significant features including who can contact, controlling personal information, adding more privacy to chats, and enabling them as per their requirements.

Currently, the feature is rolling out to select Android beta testers via the Google Play Beta Program while it will be available to more users shortly providing them the ability to manage their privacy preferences more flexibly.
