WhatsApp, a popular messaging app, is working on expanding its features to linked devices. Recently, Meta introduced the Chat Lock feature, which allows users to lock and hide chats behind a passcode or biometric authentication. Initially, this feature was only available on primary devices, but now it is being rolled out on linked devices as well.
The latest beta version of WhatsApp for Android (version 2.24.11.9) offers chat lock features on linked devices. This means users can now lock and hide chat across multiple devices, adding an extra layer of privacy and security.
This feature is available to everyone using this version of the app and is expected to be rolled out to the stable version soon.

Another feature that is limited to basic is channels. Introduced in June 2022, channels allow users to receive updates from people and organisations not in their contact list.
However, users could not access the channels on linked devices, forcing them to switch to their primary devices. The latest beta version of WhatsApp for Android (2.24.10.23) now allows users to access channels on linked devices, making it even easier to stay updated.
Meta has been working on extending features available only on primary devices to linked devices. Recently, it was discovered that the company was working on extending the ability to lock chats to linked devices. Additionally, Meta is introduced in Channels, making it easier for users to find and manage channels.
