Only a day after the whole world was grappling with the Microsoft-led outage across the globe, WhatsApp services appear to be disrupted for millions of Pakistani users.
The downtime, reportedly, was gradually building since internet services in the country were deliberately slowed down by the government owing to the countrywide precession held across Pakistan on the day of Ashura.
Moreover, reports also point towards the users of 3G and 4G services being the primary victims of the purported WhatsApp disruptions.

It was also learned that millions of WhatsApp users in Pakistan, besides facing overall sluggish service, were unable to send or receive images and voice messages.
Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), the national telecom regulatory body of Pakistan, claimed to have not received any complaints regarding the interrupted WhatsApp services.
Since the reported WhatsApp defunct was highlighted by the media as well as on social media platforms, the WhatsApp issue was being thoroughly examined to settle it, PTA remarked.
