What's new in WhatsApp for iOS 24.20.78?

According to WABetaInfo, the new video playback controls feature is integrated into WhatsApp version 24.20.78 for iOS, which is available on the App Store.

Videos on WhatsApp now include the ability to adjust the playback speed of videos, offering three options: normal, fast (1.5x), and faster (2.0x).

This new feature provides users with greater flexibility, allowing them to play videos per their preferences and time constraints.

It also allows you to choose to speed up long-duration videos to save time with the easily accessible control button placed next to the progress bar.

Additionally, WhatsApp also brings a picture-in-picture mode for videos, allowing users to resize the video window and move it around the screen with a button located next to the playback bar.

Once enabled, users can continue sending messages, or even browsing through other apps while the video plays in the corner of the screen, functioning similarly to YouTube’s picture-in-picture mode. It also includes the ability to skip forward, skip backwards, and pause the video.

To access these features, iOS users are required to download the latest version of WhatsApp from the App Store.
