WhatsApp is testing two new business indicators for optimising business experience by helping users better understand how their chats with businesses might involve Meta.

The feature focuses on making the process more transparent when businesses use Meta services like ads on Facebook and Instagram.

The feature was spotted in the Android beta 2.24.18.7 version introducing two indicators within the business chat, aiming to enhance the platform not only for regular users but also for those doing business.

Business indicators on WhatsApp

The first indicator features a single arrow (>) indicating that Meta might get details such as limited and non-confidential information about businesses.

This single arrow will appear automatically when a user interacts with an ad or link on Facebook or Instagram and will directly lead them to WhatsApp chat.

Moreover, the second indicator is a double arrow (>>) which was previously used to indicate that Meta is improving AI services for specific businesses based on the messages it received.

However, now it will appear when a business utilises AI features from Meta to get better responses from the clients. These indicators will be visible within the chat and on the chat info screen.

Currently, the feature is rolling out to Android beta testers only and it will be released to the general public shortly.
