WhatsApp has rolled out an enhanced typing indicator to more users, offering a improved chat experience. Dive into this article to understand how it works.

Generally, in WhatsApp, a typing indicator is showcased at the top of the display along with the saved contact or group chat’s name. However, this is being updated to something relatable.

How typing indicator works on WhatsApp

A typing indicator on WhatsApp works by sending a real-time signal, if you start writing a message to the other users in a chat, it will notify them that a message is being crafted.

The majority of WhatsApp users noticed this new typing indicator on their devices.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), according to various reports, the new typing indicator is currently available to the beta version of WhatsApp rather than the stable release while indicating a wider rollout. There are some limited reports from the iOS version, but they’re not nearly as broad.

However, it’s unclear when WhatsApp is planning to launch this new design to all users.
