WhatsApp is reportedly testing a new feature that will make it easier for Android users to view the status updates on the messaging app.

The Meta-owned platform’s latest update introduces a redesigned interface that will allow users to check the status updates directly from the viewers list on WhatsApp, without switching the section.

The feature was found in the WhatsApp Android beta 2.24.19.4 version that shows access to status updates via the viewers' list.

Previously, the platform made it easier to view status updates by adding a green ring around the display picture of a contact if they had posted a status, allowing users to directly access status updates from the chats list without navigating to the dedicated updates tab.

With the latest update, the feature is now extended to the section that shows who has viewed the status update which appears just below the status.

Now, when users check the list of viewers, they will see a green ring around the display picture of any saved contact who has updated a status. Though small, this update will allow users to stay up-to-date with their friends’ activities more conveniently.

Currently, the feature is available to Android beta testers and will be available to the public through the stable release.
