WhatsApp is constantly working on refining the user experience and one of the recent developments includes the testing of the Lists feature that will allow users to organise their contacts and group chats into lists.
The feature was spotted in the Android beta 2.24.18.9 version showing that the Meta-owned platform is making the Lists section compatible for both individual and group chats.
This feature draws inspiration from the labels feature used in WhatsApp Business. It will enhance how users manage their contacts and group conversations in a more efficient and personalised manner.

This update provides users the ability to create custom lists, where they can add both individual contacts and groups based on their personal or professional preferences.
Moreover, users can also name these lists or add emoticons to make them look interesting and add a fun element to their experience.
In this way, users can now share their media including status, files, images, or documents with specific persons rather than everyone.
Currently, this list feature is in the testing process and will be available to more users with an official update shortly.
The feature is designed to simplify communication by focusing on the people that matter most including family members, close friends, and workgroups.
