WhatsApp has introduced a new, adaptive, moving bubble situated below the last message, replacing the familiar "typing…" notification which used to appear at the top of chat. Although the design is divisive, it has drawn users' criticism, with many finding it distracting.

The rollout of this feature comes without any prior announcements which has provoked user’s outrage. According to the Daily Mail, this significant update has a striking resemblance to the typing animation available in Apple’s iMessage. Netizens have reported several complaints, voicing their displeasure with many calling it "annoying" and "unhelpful.

Meta-owned platform WhatsApp hasn’t addressed the backlash to soothe the frayed nerves of users. Despite the complaints, the update is likely to be rolled out globally in the near future, marking a significant design shift for the app.

While the animated bubble aims to bring a significant update to the interface, it has sparked mixed reactions regarding whether such updates would genuinely enhance the user experience or unnecessarily disrupt the familiar features.
