Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) would issue revised bills within the next two days, Rawalpindi Commissioner Aamir Khattak announced, adding that those who have already paid their bills will see adjustments reflected in their bills issued next month.
Earlier this week, the government of Punjab announced a Rs14 per unit relief for consumers in Punjab and Islamabad using electricity between 201 to 500 units in August and September.

The difference between the electricity cost and the discounted rate will be covered by the provincial government. The commissioner confirmed that the distribution companies (discos) have been officially directed.
Following directives from Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, letters have been issued to discos including IESCO, Lahore Electric Supply Company, Gujranwala Electric Supply Company, Faisalabad Electric Supply Company, and Multan Electric Supply Company..
The Punjab government has allocated Rs. 45 billion from its resources to offer relief to residents of Punjab and Islamabad. This relief package includes a reduction in electricity rates for those consuming between 201 and 500 units during August and September.
