Citing sources, Android Central claimed that three new Gemini extensions are in the works. Discovered within beta version v15.29.34.29 of the Google app, there's said to be an extension titled Google Home AI.
The leak further elaborated that users will be able to "manage and control all homes and devices that this Google account has access to." These smart home gadgets include lights and switches.
The publication stated that this is an attempt to grant Gemini the utmost capability to take charge of your smart homes. Currently, Android asks users to use Google Assistant to cater to this need, but once the Google Home AI extension is integrated into Gemini, Google Assistant will be dead,
Gemini's Utilities extension
The second impending extension is reportedly named "Utilities," which possesses the potential to let Gemini control some key functions of your Android device and execute certain tasks, such as taking photos and opening apps among various others.
Google Gemini's Phone extension
At last, we have an extension known as "Phone". This would infuse the long-sought ability to make phone calls with simple text prompts. To make a call, users might need to type "Call (name of your contact)".
All of these extensions are rumoured to reach devices soon, with the most likely release schedule being the upcoming hardware event from Google on August 13.
