X (formerly Twitter) has boosted its support for the passkey login feature by making it available to iPhone users across the world.
The company first launched the passkey login option for iOS users in the United States in January. Since the X safety account has been certified for worldwide implementation, more users will be able to use the log in option.
Passkeys are intended to be more secure option than passwords since they are not susceptible to phishing or social engineering attacks and are reluctant to login theft.
Moreover, when user while using the app activates and set up a passkey login, they generate a key pair that will be used as their digital authentication credential. The service providing the login option is given access to one of those keys that have to pair with the other key stored locally on the user's device to validate their identity. The user just has to prove that they are the one accessing their account using their biometric credentials or device passcode.
In order to activate this option, a user must first install an iOS app and then proceed to "Settings and privacy" under "Your account." In "Security and account access," the user can discover a passkey under "Additional password protection." However, X (formerly Twitter) has not confirmed the passkey option availability for Android users.
