X (formerly Twitter) is set to release a controversial update to the block feature, letting users see your public posts even if you have blocked them. However, users have protested this change, complaining that they don’t need blocked users to view their posts for safety reasons.
An old version of X’s support page said that blocked users couldn’t view a user’s following and followers lists.
Currently, X has updated the page to remove that reference, and it now lets users view the following and followers lists of the people who have blocked them.

X, a social media network owned by Elon Musk, said the reason behind this change was that the block feature could be utilised to share and hide harmful or private information about someone, and its new iteration would result in more transparency.
Moreover, the company's take on the block feature goes against how it’s been implemented conventionally, and when the company unveiled its intention to redesign it, many argued that the change would encourage stalking and make it simple for people to harass users.
