Xbox to shine at Gamescom 2024 as Nintendo and Sony opt out

Microsoft, the American tech giant, has announced its plans to return to Gamescom 2024, which will take place from August 21-25. Xbox producer Microsoft will showcase titles from studios like Obsidian’s Avowed, Bethesda’s The Elder Scrolls Online and Fallout 76, and more. In contrast, Sony and Nintendo have decided to skip this year’s event.

Upcoming game launches

According to Microsoft, the following games will be featured at Gamescom 2024. However, this is not an exhaustive list, and additional announcements are expected soon:

  1. Age of Mythology: Retold
  2. Avowed
  3. Ara: History Untold
  4. Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred
  5. Diablo Immortal
  6. The Elder Scrolls Online
  7. Fallout 76
  8. Towerborne
  9. World of Warcraft: The War Within

Sony and Nintendo's absence

Sony and Nintendo have recently announced that they will not be participating in Gamescom 2024. In a conversation with Eurogamer, Sony stated that it does not plan to bring any show to Gamescom this year. Nintendo confirmed its absence back in April, which came as surprising news to fans, given its regular attendance in recent years.

Microsoft’s return to Gamescom and the list of anticipated game launches is sure to generate excitement among gamers, despite the absence of Sony and Nintendo.
