Xiaomi, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer, launched the Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro last week, featuring the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC and the new HyperOS interface.
Although an official announcement is yet to be made, the Xiaomi 14 series is expected to welcome a new addition, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra. The Xiaomi 14 Ultra is anticipated to bring notable improvements to Xiaomi's smartphone lineup.
A reputable Chinese tipster has leaked details about the Xiaomi 14 Ultra's camera setup ahead of any official confirmation.
Xiaomi 14 Ultra camera features
The upcoming device is expected to feature a quad rear camera system, resembling its siblings, and is positioned as the successor to the Xiaomi 13 Ultra, Gadgets360 quoted the tipster as saying.
According to Digital Chat Station (DCS), who shared the information on Weibo (a Chinese microblogging platform), the Xiaomi 14 Ultra's camera system will comprise four 50-megapixel cameras with variable apertures ranging from f/1.6 to f/4.0.
This enhancement marks a significant departure from the camera capabilities of its predecessor, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra, which featured a dual aperture of f/1.9 to f/4.0. Additionally, the Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro also offer a variable aperture between the f/1.42 to f/4.0 range.
The speculator separately disclosed that the built-in focal lengths of the Xiaomi 14 Ultra's camera will be 0.5x, 1x, 3.2x, and 5x.

Like the previously released models of the series 14, the Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro, the Xiaomi Ultra 14 is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC and operate on Xiaomi's HyperOS interface.
Moreover, this operating system and class-leading chipset would be complemented by a higher, 120Hz refresh rate.

Besides impressive storage options of up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage, these models are equipped with an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance.
