YouTube has achieved a remarkable milestone, becoming the first streaming platform to exceed 10% of total TV viewership. This accomplishment solidifies YouTube's position as the leading streaming platform, offering a vast array of content to its users.

YouTube's share of all TV viewing in July 2024 was 10.4%, up from its previous peak in June when it stood at 9.9%. This rise, as most people would guess, is due to the huge scale of content available on YouTube owing to millions of contributors and its free availability.

Other streaming services, including Peacock, did well in July as the service topped viewing increases.

Peacock volume was driven by a 33% usage surge, lifting the service to 1.5% of total TV viewing, with coverage of the Summer Olympics and Love Island USA.

The Amazon Prime and Roku Channel streaming services, at 3.4% and 1.6%, respectively, were among those growing usage in double digits.

However, things changed for Netflix, yet it remains solid, steady at 8.4% of TV viewership in July. That is up 6.33% in January.

The overall amount of streaming has gained 15% since January. It is huge to go up within a little over seven months, which shows the viewership trends that must be going out of control in the future as more and more turn to streaming services for entertainment and news purposes.
