Ever had a song stuck in your head but couldn't remember the title or lyrics? YouTube Music is the solution for you. The app now allows Android users to search for songs by humming, singing, or playing the lyrics.
The advanced feature uses audio recognition technology to identify the song you're thinking of. Just tap the icon in the search bar, and hum, sing or play the tune. YouTube Music will listen and prompt you to continue if necessary, and hopefully, you'll find the song you're looking for.
After initially launching for iOS users, this feature is now available for Android users, making it a game changer for music lovers across both platforms. The feature uses machine learning algorithms to recognise patterns in the audio you provide, matching it to songs in YouTube Music’s vast Library.

While it may not always be 100% accurate it’s a significant improvement over relying on memory or searching with vague lyrics. You can find the feature in your app by heading to the search bar, you'll find a new waveform symbol next to the microphone icon.
This feature also opens up new possibilities for music discovery. Users will have only to hum a tune they heard in a movie or TV show, and YouTube Music can help you identify the song along with the artist.
To get the best results, try humming or singing the most distinctive part of the song, like a chorus or a memorable melody. You can also try searching for songs by genre or mood and see what YouTube Music recommends.
