Did your YouTube channel just get hacked, the one you’ve spent years building? Fret not as you can regain its access because Google has introduced a new AI-powered tool for its video-sharing platform to help creators recover their hacked accounts.

We live in a world where digital security is increasingly under threat and therefore, YouTube, despite having millions of followers, isn't free from hackers' attacks. To address this, the platform has rolled out a troubleshooting tool for creators who believe their accounts have been compromised.

However, the tech giant advises creators to first check for signs of hacking, such as changes to their profile picture, a new username for the account, or unauthorised video uploads.

If a user suspects that the account has been hacked, he can access this new tool directly through the YouTube Help Center where there is a step-by-step guide provided to help throughout the recovery process.

The tool will first secure the Google login, a key to regaining control over the account, and then assist in undoing all the changes the hacker might have made.

Currently, the tool is available only in English and for a select group of creators and YouTube is aiming to expand this service to all creators shortly.

Additionally, those who don’t have access to the tool can reach out to YouTube’s support team via social media and send a message to @TeamYouTube on X (formerly called Twitter).

YouTube is investing in technology to keep its community safe and secure and this new AI tool is also a part of its efforts.
