Zenless Zone Zero has been making waves since its release less than a year ago. The game has consistently been adding new features and characters with every patch, and 2024 was a successful debut year.
The RPG was even nominated for Best Mobile Game at The Game Awards and collaborated with McDonald’s to sell exclusive merchandise.
Zenless Zone Zero upcoming patch cycles
A recent leak indicated that the current patch cycle for Zenless Zone Zero would end on Version 1.7, followed by the launch of Version 2.0. The cycle would then go on until Version 2.8, after which it would introduce Version 3.0.
Interestingly, this would make Zenless Zone Zero different from other HoYoverse titles, such as Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail, which completed their first patch cycles with Version 1.6. It may offer more content for players and separate itself from its peers.
Zenless Zone Zero new characters and updates
The leak also revealed that the developers have planned 31 new characters for future updates. Currently, there are 26 playable characters in the game, so players can look forward to a lot more additions to the roster.
Moreover, there is an upcoming 1.5 update that adds new main story content, including a new chapter with a new area, events, and two S-Rank units, Astra Yao and Evelyn. One could farm material from early to try and build for these characters.
Additionally, Zenless Zone Zero's Version 1.4 is expected to end late in January. Although the update introduced a powerful unit, Hoshimi Miyabi, it faced some complaints from fans due to supposed censorship issues. The developers quickly fixed the bug and compensated players for the trouble.
