Google Pixel 2 Summary

Released in October of 2017, the Google Pixel 2 is the follow-up flagship device of the Google Pixel. The specs reflect its humble beginnings, as it is light device, only weighing 143g. The light weight can be attributed to its size, having a small 5 inches screen. Despite its weight and size, the phone is built sturdy, having a glass front (Gorilla Glass 5) and aluminium back and frame. The phone is rated IP67 water and dust resistant. The Pixel 2 has a 5 inches AMOLED display that can output 1080 x 1920 (FHD) pixels on the screen.

The OS running on the device is Android 8, which can be upgraded to Android 11. Under the hood, the Snapdragon 835 chipset is installed which has a max clock frequency of 2.35GHz; this processor is paired with Adreno 540 GPU. The phone offers two RAM and storage variants: 4GB, 64GB and 4GB, 128GB, respectively. Unfortunately, there is no micro SD card slot for storage expansion.

The main camera at the back sports only a single lens, a 12.2MP lens with laser, AF, OIS, and dual-pixel PDAF features. To complement the camera, the device comes with dual-LED flash and HDR capabilities. Videos from the main camera can be shot at 4K, 30fps, 1080p 30-120fps, and 720p, 240fps, all supported by gyro-EIS. The selfie camera also has a single lens of 8MP count, having HDR and 1080p, 30fps video recording features.

The phone comes with a small battery capacity, capped at 2,700mAh, which supports 10.5W USB Type-C charger. The phone offers additional feature, such as fingerprint (rear-mounted), accelerometer, gyro, proximity, compass, and barometer.

The Pixel 2 is offered in three colours: Kinda Blue, Just Black, and Clearly White.
