In an effort to widen either its traction or userbase, Google has listed its efficient Pixel Watch 2 at a minus-$100 price point.

Irrespective of Google's intent behind this steep slash in price, the deal comes as a no-brainer for those prone to adorn their wrist with smartwatches, especially with high-end ones like the Pixel Watch.

The coupon-based offer is reportedly being emailed by Google, stating that the Pixel Watch 2 can be bought for $249 or $299.

While it seems a tactic to lure even those not interested in smartwatches, Google's summer 2024 sale put the same Pixel Watch 2 on a $60-80 discount earlier this month, according to 9to5Google.

Citing sources, the publication said some customers received an email from Google Pixel, encouraging them to avail of the Pixel Watch 2 for as low as $249.99 for the Wi-Fi model, or the LTE version at $299.99. It should be noted that the discount code is said to be only applicable to Google Store.

The offer also points towards Google gearing up to free up its shelves for the impending, next iteration of the wearable which is expected to resemble the Pixel Watch 2.

The code can also be used on the Pixel Watch for $179.99, a discounted price tag at which Google put it earlier this month.

The email further defines Pixel Watches as the “ultimate companion for your phone,” while boasting three of its most prominent properties:

  • “Reach your fitness goals: Track workouts, get guidance, and use the Fitbit app on Pixel to see trends over time.”
  • “Control your camera remotely: Preview group selfies and personal headshots from your phone’s camera, then easily snap the pic.”
  • “Feel safer on the go: Get peace of mind throughout your day with features like Safety Check and Emergency Sharing.”

Pixel Watch battery drain issue: Here's how to resolve

To resolve battery drain issues on the Pixel Watch 2, update your watch to the latest software, reduce screen brightness, and disable the always-on display. Limit background activity and notifications, turn off Wi-Fi, GPS, and NFC when not in use, and enable battery saver mode.

If the problem persists, restart the watch or perform a factory reset. Regular maintenance and careful feature management can significantly improve battery performance.
