Apple is preparing to charge users a monthly fee to access certain features of Apple Intelligence. However, it’s yet not expected to strike iPhones, iPads, and Macs until later.

The basic features considered during the AI systems unveiled at WWDC (World Wide Developers Conference) 2024 are set to be free for users. The Cupertino-based tech giant is expected to implement a programme along the lines of “Apple Intelligence+” that could provide additional features and options for a monthly subscription.

The company is facing obstacles convincing consumers to trade in their old gear for the latest and highest it has to offer. Additionally, Apple seems to diversify its income streams.

Apple already announced that it is set to take a cut of the subscriptions charged by its forthcoming AI model partners, which is rumoured to add Anthropic and Google.

However, the company has not yet offered its users incentives to trade up to the current generation of hardware. Macs can run the forthcoming macOS Sierra, and other features, including Game Mode and iPhone Mirroring.
