Tech giant Apple has something exceptional for next year's iPhone 17 series as the Cupertino-based company is going to power up the lineup's Pro models with its high-end A19 chip.

What makes iPhone 17 series more exceptional is that it will feature a model dubbed as iPhone 17 Slim which replaces the "Plus" model in the lineup, according to a new report surfaced by reliable Apple analyst Jeff Pu.

As reported by 9to5Mac, the analyst assured of a fresh redesign, enhancements to the front-facing camera, a smaller Dynamic Island, and much more.

Will there be an iPhone 17 Slim?

Take a look at all the models expected to come with the in-the-pipeline iPhone series, as per Jeff Pu:

  • iPhone 17: 6.1-inch display
  • iPhone 17 Slim: 6.6-inch display
  • iPhone 17 Pro: 6.3-inch display
  • iPhone 17 Pro Max: 6.9-inch display

According to Pu, the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Slim, and iPhone 17 Pro will all have a more intricate aluminum design. The iPhone 17 Pro Max, on the other hand, will continue to be made of titanium. Additionally, the iPhone 17 Pro Max will have a smaller Dynamic Island, while the other models will maintain the current design.

The reduced size of the Dynamic Island on the iPhone 17 Pro Max will be achieved through a new "metalens" technology for the proximity sensor. This technology could significantly decrease the size of the Face ID sensor for Apple.

The rumored iPhone 17 Slim is consistent with previous reports from analyst Ross Young. This new iPhone 17 model will replace the "Plus" and feature a slim design. The report does not provide further details on the design.
